25 Years of Volunteers

At Chicago Cares, we believe in the power of volunteers to change the city for good. That’s why for the last 25 years, we’ve been strengthening Chicago by creating volunteer experiences to help solve the city’s biggest challenges.

Since 1991, more than half a million people have volunteered their time with us, giving precious sweat equity to uplift our city. They’ve cooked hot meals to serve seniors living in isolation, gotten their hands dirty planting urban gardens in forgotten lots, and woken up early on Saturdays to provide an extra science lesson to kids in underserved neighborhoods.

Along the way, volunteers connect with people they may never have met, visit new neighborhoods and get more involved in their own, and realize their own leadership potential. And they prove Chicagoans are as resilient as ever.

Volunteer with us or donate today, and you’ll become part of this movement. It started in 1991, and with your help, it will continue for the next 25 years and beyond.
