Adult Computer Skills at Grace House

St. Leonard's Ministries

Teach basic computer and job skills to residents of a facility that provides interim housing and services for recently incarcerated women. By helping residents improve their computer proficiency, you’ll provide them with employable skills as they transition to independent living. This program is an ongoing class with progress of participants tracked so that volunteers know what to work on with them.

  • Skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and resume writing are required.

  • Easy El access: Blue Line

Partner: Grace House is operated by St. Leonard’s Ministries, an agency that provides residential and supportive services to men and women exiting Illinois prisons. During their stay, residents are helped to reassess value systems, to reorder priorities, and to develop socially and legally acceptable patterns of behavior. St. Leonard’s Ministries has been a Chicago Cares partner since 2008 for this project.
